Guidelines for Emergency Response to Mine Fires: Rapid Response and Response Measures

Date:2024-08-07 14:36:20

Mine fires are one of the serious disasters in mine production, and their suddenness and danger pose a huge threat to the safety of miners and the production and operation of mines. In order to effectively respond to mine fires and ensure the safety of miners, mines must develop and implement strict emergency response measures.

1、 Preventive measures before a fire occurs

Regular inspection and maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain the electrical equipment, ventilation system, and fire-fighting facilities in the mine to promptly detect and eliminate fire hazards. Regularly clean up flammable substances in the mine and maintain a clean working environment.

Fire safety training and drills: Regularly provide fire safety knowledge training to miners to ensure that each miner masters basic firefighting skills and escape methods. Regularly organize fire drills to improve miners' emergency response capabilities and teamwork skills.

Establish emergency plans: Develop detailed mine fire emergency plans, clarify the responsibilities and tasks of personnel in each position, and ensure that emergency rescue work can be carried out quickly and orderly in the event of a fire.

2、 Emergency response in case of fire

Rapid alarm: Upon discovering a fire, immediately report to the mine dispatch room and activate the mine fire emergency plan. Ensure accurate and timely transmission of alarm information.

Activate emergency ventilation system: Immediately activate the mine emergency ventilation system, change the ventilation direction, prevent the spread of fire smoke, and ensure that miners have escape time and safe passage.

Organize personnel evacuation: Quickly organize underground workers to evacuate in an orderly manner to a safe area according to the predetermined evacuation route and evacuation route. For trapped personnel, command the rescue team to quickly carry out rescue operations to ensure the safe evacuation of personnel.

Implement fire extinguishing measures: On the premise of ensuring personnel safety, organize a specialized firefighting team to use the fire extinguishing equipment in the mine to carry out initial fire extinguishing and control the spread of the fire. Use fire extinguishers, fire hoses, and other equipment equipped in the mine to extinguish fires, and select appropriate firefighting equipment based on the type of fire source.

3、 Post fire aftermath management

Counting personnel: After the fire is extinguished, promptly count the evacuated and trapped personnel to ensure the safety of miners and provide necessary medical assistance.

Fire cause investigation: Organize a specialized investigation team to conduct a detailed investigation into the cause of the fire, identify the specific cause and responsible person, and prevent similar incidents from happening again.

Equipment repair and production restoration: Inspect and repair equipment damage caused by fires to ensure that safety facilities and production equipment in the mine are in normal condition before resuming production.

Summary and improvement: Carefully summarize the experience and lessons learned in fire emergency response, further improve the mine fire emergency plan and preventive measures, and enhance the overall fire prevention capability and emergency response level of the mine.

The emergency response to mine fires requires a high level of vigilance and systematic preparation. By formulating detailed preventive measures, implementing scientific emergency response, and improving post disaster management, mines can maximize the safety of miners' lives and the stability of production and operation.
